  Do you perchance, know what the dope they are referring to?

  In Victorian days, they used Laudanum (opium) for pain killing, tonic, calming the nerves....

  Is the pus squirter a reference to vaccinations? - just one of the WT's dangerous policies.

  Nobody cares and that’s the problem

  when i was a young teenager one of my friends stabbed another in the arm with a hunting knife.

  i was a witness to the event and we were all appalled by it.

  but being kids after a few months when the victim wasn’t around we would try to get this guy to come out and play with us .

  Jw's are forced to pick friends in a fishbowl. How many "friends" that we had, would we really have picked if not being a JW? I never had any friends with my interests except one. But then, if I hadn't had only her as a choice, I would have drifted off from her.

  It's not like you couldn't have bad "worldly" friends, but you aren't forced to like them or have to put up with behavior that is negative because it wouldn't be "christian"

  What a cute little girl. From what I see I your thumbnail, she looks a lot like you.

  What a sad situation you are in. But from what you say, she is enjoying being a martyr. Strange isn't it. But she's is who is and you have to save yourself.

  Anything fun has to be eliminated. I would imagine since the Jewish religion celebrates the leaving of Egypt, the WT didn't grab that as something the witnesses could celebrate.

  Hahaha they could celebrate when the WT leaders were thrown in jail and got out. Everyone could dress in sackcloth and eat dry bread for "3 days".

  Tag teams of Cart Sitters

  one sunday, we took our dad out for lunch.

  since it didn't open till 12:00, we were going to have to kill time.

  this restaurant is situated with other businesses around a small park and when we parked, we noticed there was a cart to the right in the park.

  Rub a dub - that does sound creepy. Like a zombie movie actually.

  Years and years ago, I went to a grocery store before work and there was a brother standing by the entrance with magazines. I smiled at him as I walked up. Hi he said, you must be a sister. Witnesses are the only ones that smile or say Hi to me he said.

  I would say it's like a secret society that reaffirms itself by the members giving the secret handshake. A confirmation that they belong to the ones in the know and that the work they are doing, has value. I could see the cart work being just that. Something that other witnesses see and can feel a part of it all without a word.

  on tv.jw.org kenneth cook jr. discusses how important it is to be honest when applying for special assignemts.

  he mentions health and viewing pornography.

  those who viewed pornography during the last year should not apply.

  That says a lot about the "spiritual paradise" they enjoy. It's an acknowledgement that pornography is being viewed quite often by the regular JW's.

  Goes along with the Shepard the Flock book on "if a brother has committed a sin but it isn't known by the public, and 3 -5 years have passed, then he could be used again" - not the exact wording.

  I wonder if they have a graph showing the level of the sin on one side and then months, years on the bottom. A cheat sheet to calculate when a sinning brother can be used.
